A Message from Our President

Dear Friends,

“Mann Tracht, Un Gott Lacht”, an old Yiddish adage, “Man Plans, and God Laughs”, seems so appropriate for the year 2020. We all assume at times that our best-laid plans may be unhinged by unexpected changes, which can be either disappointing or exhilarating. That is an understatement for 2020! Years from now many of the memories of this year will fade away; however, we will all remember events that were cancelled, postponed, or altered due to the coronavirus. We will also remember the good fortune experienced by family and friends.

As you know, we continue to make adjustments at Temple B’nai Israel due to the pandemic. Plans are underway to celebrate Chanukah in a different “light” this year and Face- book live Friday night services will continue until further notice.

The Annual Congregation Meeting will be held virtually on Sunday, December 6th at 6 pm. I encourage you to participate in the meeting and return your ballots as soon as possible. Detailed instructions to participate in the meeting will be provided via e-mail.

I hope to see you during the Chanukah celebration and at the Annual Meeting.

Warmest regards,

Sandy
